Helium 10’s iOS and Android mobile application is meant to be a mobile version of their web SaaS platform. This was initially a view only app for Amazon sellers or individuals interested in selling on Amazon. Users can view statistics related to Amazon product listings such as sales, revenue, and profits. The addition of a product research feature allowed users to conduct research for potential product listings on their phones and on the go.
The Helium 10 members portal and dashboard was the focus area for growth initiatives in order to increase user retention and evidently business revenue. Design tasks centered primarily around the user onboarding and member dashboard experiences.
Users a generally on the move and when they come across an idea for a product to sell, they write it down in their notes app on their phones. After that, they have to go onto a web browser to continue their search later. This process was inefficient and disruptive to users’ thought processes.
I was the sole UI/UX designer on this project responsible for brainstorming ideas based on requirements and user research data. I worked on this project from ideation through wireframing, high fidelity designs, and finally developer handoff.
Create an experience that allows users to quickly scan a barcode and diver deeper and deeper into product possibilities
Create an experience that caters to multiple use cases with varied levels of access
Allowing users to understand the feature, but limiting usage based on product and keyword searches
Creating an experience where users can connect their mobile searches to the tools on the web app
Educating users on how to benefit from this tool
Initial wireframing involved mapping out the user journey and identifying features and action points within the product research section.
I delivered the final high-fidelity designs with graphics and components to developers on Zeplin for implementation.
In conclusion, I led the user experience and user interface designs for this project. This involved collaboration with a product manager and developers throughout the process. I looked at user feedback data to ideate on this feature and iterate on later versions.
This version was built out and released to the live iOS and Android app versions. Next steps would be to continue gathering user feedback and iterating on this to make it easier to use..
